LuPE teaching and practice app

The LuPE app is aimed at budding early childhood education professionals. In the app, examples of mathematical phenomena in day-to-day daycare are made visible and skills for professional educational support are conveyed in a playful way. On the basis of five illustrated game situations by children, prospective educators can train to put on "mathematical" glasses, i.e. to recognize mathematical phenomena in children's game situations and to accompany children, to explore and deepen them through play. The app thus offers access to subject-specific and subject-didactic knowledge in early mathematical education, to the design of so-called "offers" for early MINT education and to educational and educational interactions with children.
The app was created as part of the LuPE project - teaching and practical material for teacher training, which ran at the German Youth Institute from 2014 to 2020 and was initiated and funded by the Deutsche Telekom Foundation.
