Read and write with Zebra

The app ZEBRA WRITING TABLE is a part of the German textbook ZEBRA by Ernst Klett Verlag and is
conceptually based on it. But it can be used independently of the textbook. It presents a studying path with
films, a recreation and various exercises. These chapters illustrate the first phases of learning the written language.
This app is the prelude to the Zebra App sequence for studying to read and write in German, years 1 to 4.
The new app ZEBRA WRITING TABLE offers exercises for the writing of phonetically phrases based on
fundamental vocabulary. Basic phonetic-letter assignments are practiced. Wrong phrases are automatically
corrected after the third incorrect attempt. By showing the accurately written phrase as well as their very own enter,
the children can examine and acknowledge errors. Basic orthographic consciousness is practiced in a playful method.
The contents of the tutorials within the two areas change with every new game of the app, so practicing doesn’t get
boring even with multiple games.
The following contents are included:
- Videos explaining the basics in a child-friendly way
- Incorrect entries are corrected, after the third try the right solution is displayed automatically.
- Clear arrangement of exercises on a learning path
- Self-determined learning is possible
- Motivation by accumulating stars and trophies
- Detailed analysis for lecturers and parents as a foundation for promotion
In the app there are two areas to practice:
The space SWINGING SYLLABLES AND WRTING familiarizes youngsters with the writing desk and offers workout routines.

- Task Swing and Write difficult level
The space HEARING SOUNDS contains workout routines for phonological awareness, which is a basic requirement for the
acquisition of the written language.
The following listening activity varieties are included to the sounds section:
- Which phrase begins with...?
- Which phrases sound similar at the beginning?
- Where do you hear the sound within the word?
- With which sound does the phrase begin?
The four listening duties could be acquired as an in-app buy. This buy is shown on the educational path, but
it is simply attainable within the teacher-parent area, which is protected against undesirable access by a numerical barrier.
It also supplies information that protects the tablet from unwanted in-app purchases, making it impossible for
the baby to purchase the app extensions.
